CPEng qualified with a minimum of 8-12 years’ experience, you will be responsible for some of our larger projects, so we’d expect you to hit the ground running. While there will be mentors abound to get you up to speed with the “MV Way”, it goes without saying, your confident approach, exceptional communication skills, both with colleagues and clients, and analytical outlook will secure you the job. A minimum of BE(Hons) and having specialised in structures for your final year of study will also help.
You’ll have a history of developing strong relationships with your clients along with experience managing a small team and project budgets. New Zealand experience and familiarisation with NZ codes is essential, as is a good understanding of seismic principles.
While strong verbal and written communication skills will be key to your success in this role, equally important is your desire to work well with others, your can- do attitude and ability to keep your sense of humour when the pressure is on.
As a company, we are small enough to be open and friendly, but large enough to provide you with a variety of projects to help progress your career. We encourage ongoing learning and development, and will support your participation in industry-related conferences and forums.
We’ll also do what we can to look after you by offering competitive remuneration, weekly pay, paid time in lieu (although our work life balance policy doesn’t encourage this) and plenty of good yarns around the compulsory morning tea table.
